The title of this blog was inspired by my typewriters. An early motivation for my collecting--to rescue typewriters that were in danger of being discarded and to restore each of them to good working condition--has been an objective for all of my machines: to make them type again, hence "Re-Typing."

1930 Remington Portable 3

  1. I also am fascinated with the connections these typewriters have with our literary history. For example, this machine (The Remington portable #3) is like the one that Margaret Mitchell used to write "Gone With the Wind." It seems that there are similar fascinating connections with most typewriters that were manufactured (at least it's fascinating to me!).
